Reading Barber Institute is a facility which has the proper credentials to prepare students with both practical and theoretical training in the barber industry. Our mission is to have students become licensed barbers after the completion of their course. Once students receive their barber license, they have the opportunity to work in a professional barbershop.
The education of a good barber greatly depends on the education, experience, personal stories and commitment of the instructors.
We care about men and women that have faced many challenges through their lives and are looking for a high quality bilingual and bicultural barber education by instructors that have faced similar challenges and will personally support the achievement of their students career goals and in becoming productive citizens in their community.
Reading Barber Institute was founded in 2016 with the primary purpose of providing the citizenry of Berks County and the counties surrounding Berks County with a quality post-secondary career training facility that offers the most up-to-date education programs qualifying students for a rewarding careers.

Reading Barber Institute is an institution with a purpose. It is neither subsidized nore endowed but is entirely dependant for it’s continuance and success upon the quality of its training as evidenced by the achievement of its graduates. It is coeducational and nonsectarian.
We are located in the city of Reading in the Reading Outlet Center (ROC) with ample parking. Our 3,800 square foot facility provides a large open area with 16 barbering stations and a private shampoo area, as well as a large waiting area for patrons of the student clinic.
The institution is served with public transportation from BARTA with stops within blocks of the school on 8th and 9th streets.
Our class size for theory/didactic is 10-12 students with a maximum of 20 students.
